The essential
A very thorough and ergonomic software, Digivox performs vocal audiometry evaluations with or without background noise, from stereo to a 7.1 card. Digivox contains all the lists approved by the National College of Audioprosthetics and strives to be the go-‐to tool for the performance of vocal audiometry evaluations. Small, simple and particularly complete!
Description
Created by hearing aid specialists in need of functional and user-‐friendly material, Digivox provides an all-‐rounded solution to the management of vocal audiometry. All lists by the National School of Audioprosthetics are comprehensively collected here, including lists of phrases, of numbers, etc.
Digivox can be used simply on a sound card, via an audiometer or on it’s alone to regulate more or less noisy environments during a test session. In more demanding circumstances, Digivox can also benefit from the installation of 5.1 or 7.1 cards to accurately reconstruct a widespread soundscape. The selection of loudspeakers intended for stimulus and sound is simple and intuitive. One of its greatest advantages, Digivox allows the user to create several configurations based on various sound cards dedicated to different test settings. The software has the ability to memorize the cards and their pre-sets.
The test must be simple, rapid, reproducible and reliable.
The latest regulations in force require the provision of a noise intelligibility evaluation test, which has become in itself a criterion for eligibility for hearing aids. A deviation from the standard of at least +3 dB justifies the intervention of an audioprosthetist.
Features
• It is recommended to carry out the evaluation in a binaural situation (headphones or in frontal free field / 1m) for more ecology. • In a free field, voice and noise are “mixed” in the same loudspeaker. In addition to the clinical evaluation intended to target a difficulty in discrimination in noise, this configuration makes it possible to measure a prosthetic gain after fitting by evaluating the adjustment (audibility, gain, time constants, dynamics, balance, etc.) and not the presence or the effectiveness of a directional microphone system. Testing on a single front loudspeaker located 1 m from the patient is more difficult for the patient (voice and noise mixed) but allows reproducible implementation of the test with a fixed standard. The addition of one/several loudspeaker(s) spatializes the situation and makes standardization dependent on the installation. • Noise is presented at a fixed level, only the level of the speech signal varies during the test, depending on the patient's responses. If the answer is correct, the level is reduced by 3 dB for the next item, if the answer is incorrect, the level is increased by 3 dB for the next item. Only the first item tested is followed by a 6 dB fluctuation depending on the quality of the patient's response. • The first 5 sentences are presented at a fixed level and at a very favorable signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) to allow o Patient task training o Hearing aids to detect the presence of noise and measure a more realistic result
